The Only Thing They Should Notice Is the Login Screen: Rebuilding Quote Converter Pro™

Why I rebuilt Quote Converter Pro™, and the standard it has to meet before a single dealer moves onto it: yesterday's quotes intact, new exports priced to the cent, and total brand isolation.

On September 27th I wrote down the standard for Quote Converter Pro™ 1.0. It's one sentence, and it's the hardest thing I've ever asked of software:

"Set it up, get it going, and flip the switch so the only thing they notice different is their login screen. That's how good I wanna get this."

Here's why that sentence matters, and why I had to rebuild to get there.

What a Quote Converter Actually Does

A dealer orders from the factory. The factory's system spits out an export: line items, sizes, product codes, wholesale costs. That file isn't a quote. Somebody in the office turns it into one: adding the dealer's labor, buck allowances, markups, customer proposal layouts, and company letterhead.

Done by hand, that process takes 30 to 45 minutes per job, and every retyped number is a chance to drop an adder or give away profit. Quote Converter Pro™ does it in about a minute.

Why We Rebuilt From Scratch

The first version worked for one company. Every dealer prices, lays out and brands differently, so we rebuilt it to fit each one.

What the rebuild promises dealers

  1. One price, everywhere. A quote shows the same number on every screen and device.
  2. New brands, no disruption. Adding a manufacturer doesn’t change how your existing quotes price.
  3. Your rules, your way. Each dealer’s labor, markup and margin floors match how your company works.
  4. Your brand on every proposal. Logos, colors and proposal headers match your company.

The Switch-Over Standard in Practice

When an existing dealership moves onto Quote Converter Pro™, here is the standard the platform must pass:

  • The app opens from where it always was, with the same familiar layout.
  • Yesterday's quotes remain in the library with every edit intact and the exact same total.
  • A new factory export gives the same opening lines, the same matched drawings, and the exact same money to the penny.
  • The proposal the homeowner receives carries their brand, word for word.
  • The only difference allowed: the owner can log in from any computer the next day, and everything is still there, backed up and secure.

Conclusion

If a dealership can switch over their quoting operations without missing a single beat, that is the best sales pitch in the world.
